Week 8

Week 9
It's recommended that mothers on week 7 of their pregnancy begin to reduce food until she gives birth. By the time she has her puppies, she should be eating about a quarter of what she was eating in week 8.
It's recommended that mothers close to the end of pregnancy should reduce the amount of protein and increase the amount of vegetables in their diet as you want her to have a gentle laxative effect.

After Birth
It's recommended that mothers 5- 6 weeks after birth eat as much as she wants unless the litter are very small, then limit her intake of food. When puppies are weaning off of their mothers milk, she should also begin to lessen the amount of food until she is back to her normal feeding diet.
